Nurturing your child's innate curiosity
Children enrolled at ECA learn to explore the world around them using all five senses and begin to think in creative, often multifaceted ways. Your child will be exposed to a one-of-a-kind, high-quality bilingual curriculum based on early learning standards that address the multiple domains of development, including but not limited to academic, social-emotional, and physical. We nurture the innate curiosity that leads to a lifelong love of learning.
Our unique curriculum is enriched by the following programs:
Learning in English and Chinese
Academically, the school highlights literacy and math, and dedicated blocks of time to skill mastery in both English and Chinese. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all areas of focus in building literacy skills. Children’s interests are ignited by molding the curriculum that give children leadership opportunities to discover new things on their own, investigate, imagine and create. This gives them ownership of their learning as well as critical repetition in problem solving, communicating and collaborating.
The Creative Curriculum: Goals and Objectives
Chinese Language Instruction
Our Bi-lingual classrooms provoke the excitement of learning the expression of language. Our curriculum provides for full integration of the Creative Curriculum, with an emphasis on language arts and mathematics, as well as on the social emotional, cognitive, language and physical growth of the child. Chinese language instruction is provided by our bi-lingual Chinese early childhood educators on a regular basis.
Music and Movement
Our uniquely designed music time will give children the opportunity to use instruments and explore music with a hands-on learning experience. Additionally, trained instructors will introduce children to a variety of musical genres, all geared toward children and expanding their imaginations.
Dance and Creative Expression
This enriching program strengthens coordination and cognitive skills in a positive atmosphere. Classes combine creative movement and imaginative play with fun props which encourage active participation.
Soccer
Introducing children to soccer in a non-competitive way opens up countless possibilities for young kids, both on and off the field. It creates opportunities for children to have fun, build social skills, improve self-confidence and instill a brave, creative, go-for-it mentality that can help provide the right foundation for the rest of their lives.
Developmental Profiles
Developmental Profiles which evaluate children’s developmental growth (including the infant program) are performed by the teachers and distributed to the parents twice per year during parent conferences. Transitions into the next classroom is based on availability of space in that group, developmental readiness and chronological age.
Parent Meetings
Meetings to discuss your child are available upon request and welcomed. Please feel free to ask your teacher if you have any questions.
"ECA has a wonderful curriculum with clearly outlined learning objectives. The teachers are intentional in their interactions with our daughter yet the instruction is seamlessly integrated into creative play. She has a structured daily routine complete with healthy snacks/meals and naps which helps her feel safe and secure. She's also challenged and it's thrilling to watch her thrive in such a diverse, vibrant environment."
