Liangju Li2024-07-20My son graduated from ECA two months ago, and he misses it very much. The teachers at ECA are very friendly and responsible. Our child has learned a lot while being happy. Thank you for giving our child a joyful two years.Lili Qing2024-07-02My 3 year old boy enjoys his time here very much! He got his potty training done in ECA, he made his best friends here, he also learnt a lot of stuff here. The teachers are all very friendly and patient, they also hold activities to cheer up kids from time to time. Definitely recommend ECA!!Alfred Wong2024-06-27My daughter has attended ECA since she was 1 years old, and she will be graduating and attending kindergarten in the fall. ECA has provided her with exceptional learning and care during her years there, even as she aged up into different classrooms and had different teachers - all of them are awesome and really cared for my daughter’s growth. I also really appreciate the clear and frequent communication from the school. Highly recommended!Lydia Sun2024-06-26Over the past four years, we've had two children enrolled at ECA, and it's been more than just an incredible school experience; it's felt like being part of a very special community and family. The teachers and staff here are exceptional. Their love for the students is evident in everything they do. One morning, I needed to drop off my child earlier than usual, but her teacher (xiaoyu laoshi) hadn't arrived yet due to staggered shifts. My child was tearful, and when I messaged the staff to check on her, her teacher happened to read the message while still at home, and she came in early because she was worried about my child. I would have never expected her to do this, and I was so incredibly touched by her act of kindness. Her teacher told me, "my kids come first." The care and attention the teachers provide to the students is unparalleled. My three-year-old has already mastered concepts typically taught in pre-K. The teachers are highly receptive to feedback and adapt the curriculum to each child's abilities, temperament, and the parents' expectations. Finding an outstanding bilingual school that teaches Chinese was crucial for us, and ECA has exceeded our expectations. I only wish ECA extended beyond pre-K so we could keep our children there for many more years. We absolutely love it, and we will be so sad when our children graduate.Stephen Lan2024-06-21---------- Updated review ---------- Over three years since I first reviewed ECA, my 2nd daughter has now graduated from pre-K, following my first two years earlier. It's sad that our time with ECA is coming to a close but I am grateful that our girls built a solid foundation thanks to the dedicated care and education of the ECA staff. Highly recommend ECA to any parent looking to grow their children, especially with a mandarin foundation, and position them for a smooth transition to elementary school. ---------- Prior review from 2020 - ---------- We have 2 children currently enrolled at ECA, a 3 yo and a 15 mo, since August. While a short period of time, our children both love the school and we are happy with the administration, the teachers and the environment. The administration has always been responsive to our needs and careful of the safety of the children. The children clearly love learning from the teachers, who are transparent in their development and needs. Finally, the school clearly takes care to create an enriching place for kids to learn and play. COVID has made things difficult for childcare centers across the country. We believe ECA has taken the appropriate steps to provide a safe, enriching environment for our children. Highly recommend ECA!Anthony Borromeo2023-11-29Eastside clinic is hands down the best pediatric clinic experience. Starting from the front desk checkin , nurses and ending with our doctor. These front liner heroes are friendly, fast and professional. My family thanks all of you for your service.Austin Wang2023-11-26Eastside Children’s academy is a wonderful place for our kids to grow and learn Chinese. My wife is Vietnamese and I’m an American born Chinese and we were looking for a place where our 2 girls could gain some exposure to and learn Chinese. We found ECA and after touring the facility we enrolled starting with our 3 year old and later our 1.5 year old. Our 3 year old was there for just under 2.5 years until she graduated to kindergarten and our younger girl is still there. I would highlight 3 things about this school that are really great. 1. They really learn a lot - not just Chinese (which they actually do) and a bunch of other stuff too. There’s definitely a cirriculum and tons of art projects and lesson plans and the teachers really try hard to teach them about a variety of topics including science, math, reading, and Chinese + Chinese culture. My older daughter started without speaking or understanding much Chinese at all since we don’t speak at home - after 2.5 years she speaks basic chinese that I can have full on simple conversations with her. A great foundation for growing upon. My younger daughter is on the same course and am excited where she’ll be after more like 3.5-4 years at school. 2. The teachers and staff are all really great and I genuinely feel like they love the kids. Every teacher regardless of what class seems to know both my girls and greet them happily everyday. All the other staff at the school seem to know them as well. Jenny, the owner, is super nice and caring and knows all the kids and parents names and is very cheerfully greeting everyone everyday. I really feel that the staff actually love our kids and our kids love their teachers too. 3. Very easygoing and accommodating. Not a lot of rules. The rules that they do have are reasonable and not overly strict in a way that’s annoying. They are pragmatic. They also handled COVID quite well, being more strict when needed. Overall I’d highly recommend this school. We very happy having our kids grow here. Thank you ECA!Caoyu Wang2023-11-03My son went to this school since 2021. He has been in preschool and pre-K. We love this school because the teachers are very patient and professional. My son learned to follow regular routines, and made a lot of friends here. The teachers prepared a wide variety of activities. They learned different occupations, Chinese and English, festivals, science and many different things. This school hour is also very friendly for working parents.Benjamin Bitoun2023-10-25My two daughters joined ECA in July 2022. The staff has been doing a great job taking care of them and listening to our comments. The facility is very clean, especially important for toddlers. Additionally, my children quickly improved their Chinese speaking skills.Serena Wu2023-07-22We have been at ECA for nearly 3 years, and our kids love going to school and feel supported & cared for — which is all that really matters to us. We initially chose ECA over other preschool centers due to the following reasons: Flexibility and convenience for dual-working households. The school is open from 7:30-6pm, operates year-round (with no lengthy summer breaks), and offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks prepared on-campus daily. Dropoff times have been flexible, and the school has been able to make dietary accommodations when needed. We let the school know when I was in my second trimester that we planned on enrolling our second child at 3-months-old and had no issues with the waitlist. With an age range from 6-weeks-old to pre-K, we didn’t have to look into separate childcare centers for two kids, making dropoffs and pickups manageable. Peace of mind. The facility is well-maintained and clean, with spacious classrooms (with private bathrooms per classroom and individual sleeping cots), two outdoor play yards, and an enclosed gym for rainier days. The teachers log daily updates and share photos from time to time via the Procare app, and there is classroom-based camera access when needed. There were strict measures in place during Covid, and no strict requirements around individual milestones like potty-training. Keyfob access is required for entrance beyond the lobby. Bilingual Mandarin exposure. Other school options we initially considered were either 100% Mandarin or 100% English. ECA offers a good blend of both, which fit our bill for wanting Mandarin exposure while speaking English exclusively at home. The degree of Mandarin exposure varies depending on the lead teacher for each classroom, but it is more than we could ever offer at home. Pre-K followed an entire Kinder-level Chinese textbook curriculum, and our kids have picked up a decent amount of Mandarin words and phrases even if they still end up speaking English with other students. Overall, we’ve had a pleasant experience at ECA so far, and we would highly recommend the school to friends and family in the area looking for bilingual childcare before Kindergarten!Google rating score: 4.7 of 5, based on 44 reviews
